Urgent repair work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 to repair an underground pipe in Woodruff Circle. The work is expected to continue through Friday, August 15, 2025 and will impact travel and shuttles in the area.

Key Details:

Lane Closures:

  • Means Drive and the Northeast section of Woodruff Circle will be restricted for vehicular traffic for the duration of the project. Means Drive will become a 1-way Southbound street.
  • No personal vehicles, rideshare vehicles, or personal delivery services will be permitted to drive through Means Drive. Access to the WHSCB parking lot will remain available for authorized vehicles.
  • Emory shuttles and essential vehicles, including delivery trucks/18-wheelers, will be routed via Eagle Row to Means Drive and onto Pierce Drive.
  • Temporary standing in Means Drive circle in front of AMUC will be permitted only for authorized vehicles. No rideshare or deliveries are permitted in this area.

Pedestrian Access 

  • Most pedestrian pathways will remain open, except at the immediate construction site.
  • Pedestrians traveling from Clifton Road can access the Southeast portion of Woodruff Circle via the crosswalk.
  • Temporary sidewalk closures will include on-site pedestrian detour information

Building Access

  • All building access will remain open and accessible

Bus & Shuttle Routes: 

The following routes will experience a detour or modified route. Please anticipate shuttle delays and visit https://emory.passiogo.com/ for live shuttle tracking and route information. 

  • A Route: The shuttle will utilize the Southbound MARTA stop on Clifton Road and will not access Woodruff Circle
  • B Express Route: The shuttle will utilize the Southbound MARTA stop on Clifton Road and will not access Woodruff Circle
  • C Route: The shuttle will detour to access Woodruff Circle via Means Drive
  • CCTMA: No route impact expected
  • D Route: The shuttle will utilize the Southbound MARTA stop on Clifton Road and will not access Woodruff Circle
  • D Express Route: The shuttle will operate as a D route with the modified route during its normally scheduled times.
  • E Route: To better serve clinic employees arriving to work, the shuttle will operate in "reverse" direction between 5:00AM-2:30PM and will return to its normal direction for afternoon & evening service.
  • EDH Route: The shuttle will detour to access Woodruff Circle via Means Drive
  • EUHM Route: The shuttle will detour to access Woodruff Circle via Means Drive
  • Executive Park Route: The shuttle will detour to access Woodruff Circle via Means Drive
  • Grady Route: The shuttle will detour to access Woodruff Circle via Means Drive
  • Loop Route: The shuttle will utilize the Southbound MARTA stop on Clifton Road and will not access Woodruff Circle
  • M Route: The shuttle will not access Woodruff Circle and cannot stop at the Southbound MARTA stop on Clifton Road. Riders may utilize the Winship Cancer stop on Uppergate or the Northbound MARTA stop on Clifton Road at Uppergate Drive.
  • South DeKalb Route: The shuttle will detour to access Woodruff Circle via Means Drive
  • Toco Hills Route: No route impact expected

External Routes:

  • Emory Primate Center Shuttle: The shuttle will utilize the Southbound MARTA stop on Clifton Road and will not access Woodruff Circle.
  • Georgia Tech - Emory Shuttle: The shuttle will utilize the Westbound stop across from the Winship Cancer Institute on Uppergate Drive and will not access Woodruff Circle
  • MARTA 6: No route impacts expected
  • Xpress Commuter Bus: Please visit https://xpressga.com/alerts/ for additional information
