Employee Transit Subsidy Program (Transcard)

Emory currently offers a 100% subsidy for employees choosing public transportation as their commute option as part of the employee benefits package. Failure to comply with the following specific program guidelines can result in suspension from the program.

Transcard Program Guidelines
  • Eligibility for the transit subsidy program is limited to Emory University and/or Emory Healthcare employees who are active full or part-time regular employees (who work a minimum of 20 hours per week).
  • The Parking Services office does not sell MARTA cards for general use. Only Emory-subsidized transit cards are available at the Parking Office.
  • This benefit is non-transferrable and can be used only by the eligible employee.
  • This program cannot be used in conjunction with annual campus parking or with other programs within Emory Moves Commute Options.
Transcard Program Registration
  • A Transcard program application form (76KB, .pdf) must be completed and submitted to Transportation and Parking Services office to enroll in the transit subsidy program.
  • The application process includes verifying employment status and verifying program eligibility and may take up to 5 days.
  • Once an applicant is approved for the program, the Transcard member will be able to pick up theirTranscard from the Lowergate parking office during regular business hours.
Transcard Monthly Pick-up
  • Transcard members must pick up their new Transcard in person by the 7th calendar day of each month. They will be asked to present their current Transcard and their Emory employee ID card or alternate accepted photo ID each time they pick up a Transcard.
  • If a Transcard member is unable to pick up their Transcard within the designated pick-up period due to illness or scheduled time off, call Transportation and Parking Services in advance to make alternate arrangements.
  • Even when alternate arrangements are made, Transcards will only be held until the 14th of the designated month.
  • Failure to comply with the cited Transcard pick-up regulations for a particular month will result in forfeiture of your subsidized Transcard for that month.
  • Monthly and weekly Transcards are also available for purchase.
This program is non-transferrable and the Transcard can only be used by the eligible individual to whom it was issued.

Transcard Replacement
  • If a card is reported stolen, MARTA will issue a free replacement Transcard upon submission of a police report filed within 72 hours of incident.
  • Damaged or defective transcards can be replaced free of charge when returned to any MARTA RideStore.
  • Weekly and monthly Transcards are available for sale at the Transportation and Parking Services office.
