MARTA Subsidy Program

Eligibility

Active full-time regular and active part-time regular (work a minimum of 20 hours per week), or full-time temporary employees of Emory University or Emory Healthcare whose primary work location is on the Clifton Road corridor are eligible to participate in this program. NOTE: Applicants may only register for one Commute Options Program at a time (bike, carpool, Cliff Transit, MARTA, vanpool, or walk).

Incentives

1.      Free MARTA Transcard. MARTA transcards have unlimited uses during the month. You are expected to use your transcard primarily to get to and from work. However, feel free to use it to ride MARTA to sporting and cultural events, shopping, the airport, or any other travel need that may be accommodated by MARTA. How to Apply

1.      Current employees should complete the MARTA application form, available at the office of Transportation Services, Clairmont Campus Deck; the Parking Office, Lowergate Deck; and at Human Resources, 1599 Clifton Rd.

2.      New employees may obtain the required signature for the MARTA application form from a Human Resources orientation specialist.

It may take up to five (5) business days to verify your employment status. Once your eligibility is confirmed, you will be contacted and asked to bring your parking hangtag(s) to the Parking Office to obtain your MARTA transcard.

If you would like to obtain a Cliff Permit , you will need to register your vehicle with the Parking Office. You will need to bring your driver's license and vehicle registration to the Parking Office to obtain your Cliff Permit and decal.

How to Pick Up Your MARTA TransCard

Employees may pick up their monthly transcard at the Parking Office starting on the 20th of each month. Transcards must be picked up by the 7th calendar day of the month designated. When picking up a MARTA transcard each participant must:

1.      Present an Emory University/Emory University Hospital/Emory Clinic photo ID.

2.      Sign the transcard.

3.      Sign the Receipt of Transcard sheet.

NOTE: If MARTA transcard participants fail to pick up their card by the 7th of the month, they will forfeit their subsidized MARTA transcard for that month. They may purchase a monthly transcard or weekly transcards, at their own expense, at the Parking Office. If you know in advance, that you will be unable to get your card during this time, you may contact the Parking Office to make other arrangements.

After Relinquishing Hang Tag

Prorated refunds will be issued for hang tags paid in full or payroll deductions will be canceled. New participants in the MARTA transcard program may continue to pick up weekly MARTA transcards, if applicable, until their first monthly transcard becomes effective.

Should a MARTA transcard participant's card be stolen, a free replacement card can be issued upon submission of a police report within 72 hours of incident. A malfunctioning card can be replaced free of charge when returned to the Parking Office or to one of the following MARTA Ridestore locations: Airport, Five Points, Lenox, and Lindbergh.

Do's and Don'ts

• Do pick up your transcard at the Parking Office starting the 20th of each month and by the 7th calendar day of the designated month.

• Do contact the Parking Office at 404-727-5935 if you are unable to pick up your transcard during the pick-up period due to illness or scheduled time off.

• Passes may be held until the 14th of the designated month.

• Don't send someone other than yourself to pick up your MARTA transcard.

• Don't transfer the MARTA transcard to anyone else
