Questions & Answers

What is a SMART Commute?
Biking, walking, carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, and/or Emory transit, in any winning combination!
Who is eligible for these subsidies?
Full-time employees and part-time employees who work at least 20 hours per week.
How can a SMART Commute save me money?
Besides not having to pay for parking, reduced fuel costs and less wear and tear on your vehicle, Emory provides subsidies that cover up to 100% of the cost of a commute alternative. Subsidy amounts and availability depend on your primary work location.
What happens if I need to drive to campus?
Not a problem! Emory understands that we all have times when we can’t take the bus or our carpool partner needs to leave early. That’s why we give each main campus employee up to 20 free back-up parking passes per year. In addition, we partner with Georgia Commute Options to provide employees five free rides per year through the Guaranteed Ride Home program. To find out more, visit https://www.mygacommuteoptions.com. Ready to go? Fill out and submit the registration form. Not sure? We’ll help you choose your best commute option! Get Started.
