“Recently, Larry Hodges jumped on the alternative transportation wagon and started taking a GRTA (Georgia Rapid Transit Authority) bus from Griffin to Atlanta every day. While his commute time has increased slightly, the mileage he puts on his car has decreased significantly.
"Each seat on the bus has its own light and some even have computer hookups so I can get work done while commuting. I've also met other Emory Healthcare employees on the bus. Everyone knows all the other riders and the bus driver; it's like a mini-family.
It's great not having to fight traffic every day. If you have the will and do some planning, you can take alternative transportation anywhere. It has been a good experience, and I plan on taking the bus as much as I can."”
