Walkers should register in Emorys Walk program to receive special incentives and the more participants that are registered in the program, the more influence Emory will have with local agencies in petitioning for wider sidewalks, additional crosswalks and maybe even lockers and showers at your worksite.

Walkers must complete the bike/walk form . Forms are also available at the Transportation Services Office in the Clairmont campus deck; the Parking and Community Services Office, Lowergate deck; and at Human Resources, 1599 Clifton Road.

What incentives do walkers receive?

The Occasional Parking Permit allows employees to park in a designated parking deck (24 days per year) when it is necessary to drive to work. Learn more about other incentives for walkers here.
Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) provided through the Atlanta Regional Commission provides commuters who carpool, vanpool, bike, walk or take transit to work with up to five free taxi rides home from work annually if one of the following emergencies arises:
A serious problem occurs at your childs school or daycare center
An immediate family member has an emergency and you are unable to wait for your ride home.
You have to work mandatory unscheduled overtime
Your home or property is damaged by burglary, fire, etc.
You get sick at work and cant wait for your normal ride home
Your carpool/vanpool driver has to leave work early because of an emergency or must work unscheduled overtime and you have no other way to get home
A discounted Zipcar membership is also provided. Zipcars allow Emorys faculty, staff and students to commute with the Universitys Commute Options program, and have access to cars on campus and get around during the workday, if needed.
Up to 100 MARTA tokens to take transit during inclement weather are also provided. These tokens dont have to be used only during an Emory commute; they can be used at any time during the year. Members of the Walk program can pick up one roll of 20 tokens at a time, and no more than once every two months from the CCTMA/Emory Alternative Transportation Office located at Emorys Clairmont campus parking deck.
