Frequently Asked Questions:

Transportation / Park-n-Ride

Q.

I am an alternative commuter and have an unplanned emergency and need to leave campus early. What are my options?

A.

For commuters with unexpected emergencies, the Atlanta Regional Commission offers a Guaranteed Ride Home program. This program is designed to provide registered commuters participating in commute options programs with a ride to either park-n-ride lots or directly home. Learn more here.

Q.

Are there any Cliff Shuttles available for employees at the Midtown campus for employees residing in the Dekalb area, specifically the South Dekalb mall area...?

Submitted by Deltra

A.

There are currently no Cliff shuttle routes that provide direct service from South DeKalb Mall to Emory University Hospital-Midtown. However, there are options:

1) Catch Cliff's South DeKalb Mall Park-and-Ride shuttle to the Woodruff Circle Transit Hub on Emory's Clifton Road campus. Then take Cliff's Grady/Midtown Hospital shuttle to EUH-M.

2)Catch Cliff's South DeKalb Mall Park-and-Ride shuttle to the Woodruff Circle Transit Hub on Emory's Clifton Road campus. Then cross Clifton and take the MARTA #245 Express to Lindbergh Station and transfer to SB rail to MARTA's Civic Center Station.

3) Catch Cliff's South DeKalb Mall Park-and-Ride to Memorial Drive, then transfer to MARTA's #21 to Five Points Station. Take MARTA's NB train to Civic Center Station.

Q.

Do I need a special permit for using the Park-n-Ride at North Dekalb Mall? I've noticed cars with Cliff permits hanging from their rear view mirrors - do I need one of these?

A.

You do not need a special permit to ride the North DeKalb Mall Park-and-Ride, but as a registered commuter you will receive an Occasional Use parking permit for those days when using the Park-and-Ride is inconvenient or the weather won't cooperate.

We do request that you register with the University's Parking Office as a Park-and-Ride commuter, so that we have a clearer understanding of our riders' commute habits and needs so that we can offer the best service possible.

The Occasional Use parking permit, a discounted Zipcar membership, and other incentives are available only to registered commuters.

Visit us online or in person in the Lowergate Parking deck, or call them at 404.727.PARK (7275) for more information.
