Carpool Program
Carpooling is a part of Emory's total transportation management plan and is designed to reduce traffic congestion and parking demand at the main campus on Clifton Road. We offer carpool incentives, provide ongoing support and information, and help employees obtain ridematch lists. Contact Transportation & Parking Services for more information at 404-727-1829.
Destination: Emory
Use the Destination: Emory Ride Matching Service to contact Emory employees in your area. This is a completely secure site so that your privacy is ensured. If you should receive an email request for carpool membership, you may choose to participate at your discretion. If you prefer not to participate, do not reply to the email. Your anonymity will be preserved and your privacy protected.
Once your carpool is formed, you can register at the Parking Office and begin to benefit from the carpool incentives. If you are already carpooling, you are ahead of the game! All you need do is register your carpool to enjoy the incentives available.
Register your Carpool
To qualify for special, university-sponsored incentives, carpools must have a minimum of two participants -- two of whom must be Emory University and/or Emory Healthcare employees who work a minimum of twenty hours per week. All members of a carpool must apply at the Parking Office (Lowergate Deck). All carpool members must turn in their Emory hangtags and gate entry cards to receive a special Cliff Permit.
Eligibility
Active full-time regular, active part-time regular (work a minimum of twenty hours per week), and active full-time temporary Emory University and Emory Healthcare employees whose primary work location is on the Clifton Road corridor are eligible to participate. NOTE: Applicants may only register for one Commute Options Program at a time (bike, carpool, Cliff Transit, MARTA, vanpool, or walk).
Carpool Categories & Incentives
There are two categories of carpools at Emory based on employment status, and one carpool option for students. Each category is entitled to a set of incentives.
Category 1: Three (3) or more full-time employees, or two (2) full-time employees and two (2) part-time employees or two (2) students.
Category 2: Two (2) full-time employees, or one full-time employee and two (2) part-time employees or two (2) students or three (3) or more part-time employees.
Category 3: Two (2) or more students or One (1) employee and one (1) student.

Unreserved and reserved carpool spaces will be assigned based on where the participants are currently assigned to park and/or availability in other parking areas.
**Subject to verification of valid driver's license and insurance.
Note: Cliff Permits are NOT valid for street parking.
How to Apply
Each member of a student carpool must complete the student carpool application form. Forms are available at the Transportation Services office at Clairmont Campus Parking Deck, and the Parking Office at Lowergate Parking Deck. Each student carpool member must submit their vehicle registration with vehicle identification number for all vehicles that will be brought to the Emory campus.
Each student carpool member must submit a copy of their vehicle registration and valid driver's license to receive a Cliff Permit for the Clairmont Campus Parking Deck. All forms and documentation must be submitted to the Parking Office, Lowergate Parking Deck.
